This machine was especially designed to core apples and cut them into wedges (segments) or into tid-bits. In a single operation, this machine cuts apples into wedges and remove the cores, which makes it perfectly suitable for preparing fruit for drying and for producing apple slices, with or without the skin, for the confectionery and baking industry, for fresh fruit salads or for the snacks industry. It may also be used core apples and then cut them into tid-bits, which makes it particularly suitable for the preparation of fresh fruit salads and convenience food. It may be used for cutting apples into vertical slices instead of wedges. This machine can also core, wedge and cut pears into tid-bits (model without automatic feeding).
Comes in 2 differing models:
2 head model machine is rated a capacity of 40 pieces/min,
4 head model is rated a capacity of 80 pieces/min.
This machine is completely made of AISI 304 stainless steel and it may be installed inline with other machines in order to be automatically fed through its loading area where fruit is singulated. Produce is then transferred onto the stainless steel conveyor equipped with an automatic orienting system, allowing automatic fruit alignment inside the tray hollows.
In the slicing section, a sharp and precise cut, which does not affect organoleptic qualities, guarantees maximum hygiene and healthy products. Here, apples are cored, wedged and, if required, cut into tid-bits by means of interchangeable cutting units that allow varying coring diameter, number of wedges (2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12) and tid-bit size.
Sliced fruit and vegetables are discharged through a chute and then, if need be, onto a belt to be automatically transferred to next inline machine. Cores fall underneath the working surface where a conveying belt, (not included in the supply), may be installed to carry them out of the machine and discharge them into a collecting container.
All safety guards may be easily removed thanks to quickly releasable interlocked hinges. This allows easy, quick and safe maintenance as well as thorough cleaning.
Optional extras with these machines include:
TID BIT CUTTING SYSTEMS: upon customers demand this machine may be equipped with a tid bit cutting system that allows switching the outlet product from wedges to tid-bits by simply enabling or disabling the tid-bit function.
FEEDING TANK: washing tank with elevator and bubbling system for inline feeding of the apple wedger.
The unit requires electrical power supply of 0.75kW for the 2 head model, with 1.1kW required for the 4 head model.
Both models require a source of compressed air of 3 bar (43.5 psi).
